Who We Are

The Ridge exists to pursue people at all costs, so they can know Jesus, grow in Him, and serve Him daily.
Our Core Beliefs
Our core beliefs, listed below, are a summary of the doctrine and teaching of Austin Ridge Bible Church.
The Bible
We believe in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments as being inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and to be the final authority for life and faith.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
The Trinity
God eternally exists as three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, and there is one God.
Matthew 28:18-19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:1-2
The Father
God the Father rules in a sovereign yet personal way over His creation, judges justly according to His holiness, and compassionately reconciles a lost world to Himself.
Genesis 1; Exodus 4:22, 34:6-7; Romans 8:14-17; Ephesians 4:6
The Son
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. While living on Earth, Jesus was both fully man and fully God.
Isaiah 53:12; Luke 1:31-35; John 1:1-2, 14, 18; Colossians 1:19
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and works in and through the church, gifting us to accomplish God’s purposes.
John 16:8; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11,13; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18
Mankind and Sin
People were created in the image of God, but we fell out of relationship with God through sin and became separated from God.
Genesis 3; Romans 3:23, 5:6-12, 6:23
The Work of Jesus
Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, then died on a cross for our sins. Following his crucifixion, Jesus defeated death by rising from the dead three days later.
Matthew 27, 28; Romans 8:3, 5:12-21; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God by grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. All who are saved are kept secure in Christ forever and are both saved from the penalty of our sin and given the promise of eternal life.
John 10:27-30; 14:6; Galatians 2:20-21; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:3-5
Future Things
Jesus will physically return to establish His kingdom in all the world, making all things new. All humanity will then experience a physical resurrection; believers to eternity with God and unbelievers to eternity apart from Him.
Matthew 25:31-46; John 14:1-3; Hebrews 9:27-28
Our Core Values
Our core values, listed below, serve as a description of what we believe the Bible calls us to be and do as followers of Jesus.
Christ-Centered
When individuals believe in who Jesus is and what He has done for them, their focus in life shifts from being self-focused and self-centered to Christ-focused and Christ-centered.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Scripture-Led
The Bible is the very Word of God. A person becomes more Christ-centered as they are led by the Scripture. The Holy Spirit guides the Christ Follower as they read, study, obey, and live according to the Scripture.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
In Biblical Community
Christ Followers are to live in biblical community within the Church by gathering, loving, serving, submitting, honoring, and forgiving one another.
“I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3)
Prayer-Dependent
Christ Followers have the privilege and opportunity to experience intimacy with God through prayer, trusting, and depending on Jesus moment by moment.
“The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:5b-7)
Living Generously
We believe that following Jesus compels the Christ Follower to give generously of themselves—their time, energy, and resources—so that others may know, grow, and serve Jesus.
“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)
Outward-Focused
Since the Christ Follower has experienced God’s love and forgiveness through Jesus, they seek to make more Christ Followers inside the church and also take that message outside the walls of the Church to reach the lost and serve the vulnerable.
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” (Mark 16:15)
Multiplying Disciples
The aim of a Christ Follower is to help others grow into lifelong learners and followers of Christ; to multiply who they are in Jesus, and then help others do the same.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20a)
