Partnership in the Gospel

On Sunday, Brad launched our new series on Paul’s letter to the Philippians, a joy-filled thank-you note written from a Roman prison. Paul unequivocally reminds them that joy isn’t the same as happiness. Happiness depends on circumstances; joy is the settled conviction that God sovereignly controls the events of life for our good and His glory. That’s why the book of Philippians overflows with three main themes: Jesus, joy, and faith-focused optimism. The Philippians church lived out these themes as they locked arms in God's mission. And what was true for them is true for us - a Christ-focused mindset produces true fellowship, authentic lives...and an unshakeable joy.
