The Story of Scripture
The Story of Scripture is designed to guide you through the entire Bible by providing a big-picture understanding of its story and structure. We will unpack biblical themes and see how they fit into the timelines of that era. This course will deepen your personal time in God's Word by providing context and clarity as you study individual portions of Scripture within the confines of God's big story.
The Institute’s seminary-like courses will stretch you more than any other environment we offer! Gain confidence in your ability to study and understand the Bible, articulate fundamental beliefs and theology, and share those beliefs with others. Childcare is available.

Joey is our staff’s proud Marylander. He spent his childhood playing hockey and baseball and acting on stage. He’s pretty vocal about where he’s from, the food he likes and dislikes, and his general fear of small animals. He’s been in full-time ministry since 2008 and has a Bachelor of Arts in Bible & Theology, a Master of Arts in Leadership, and a Master of Divinity. More importantly, Joey is the husband to his High School sweetheart, Stephanie, and a dad to Selah, Josiah, Judah, and Jacoby. Joey serves as the Pastor of Ministries at Austin Ridge. His role is to oversee EQUIP (our classroom environment), host the EQUIP Roundtable podcast, lead our adult ministry team, and take on “other duties as assigned.”

Jeff is originally from Baytown, Texas, and has been in Austin since 2000. He has been married to Karol Ann since 1995, and they have two grown kids, one awesome grandson, and three French Bulldogs. He has a Master's of Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary and has been in pastoral ministry for more than 20 years. Jeff has a passion for seeing people grow in their understanding of and obedience to Scripture and equipping them to equip others in the community, and has been doing that at the Ridge since 2013.

Lorri is a teacher, a writer, and a lover of God's Word. She has been a partner at Austin Ridge since 2008 and is passionate about serving the church and helping others find their place to do and make a kingdom difference with their talents and gifts. She is married to Jarrod, and they have one daughter, Reece. She has served as a teaching leader in women's ministry, worship leader on Sunday mornings, and most recently, as a ministry associate and podcaster in the Equip ministry. Lorri appreciates a good book and an excellent vacation to read on. As the Serve Coordinator, it is her joy and privilege to listen to people's stories and direct them to use those stories to serve Jesus and his church.
