Freedom at the Ridge
Freedom at the Ridge (FATR) is a Christ-centered recovery program designed to help people address a variety of hurts, habits, and hang-ups. FATR provides a safe environment for real life change in Jesus Christ, as participants personally work through specific biblically-based recovery steps in the context of Christian comunity.
FAQ’s:
What is FATR?
Freedom at the Ridge (FATR) is a spiritual growth vehicle for the imperfect, specifically, those who have moved past denial and are willing to admit that they have hurts, habits and hang-ups.
Isn’t recovery for people who have “major” issues?
Recovery is regaining that which was lost. We have all lost the ability to be perfect because of the problem of sin. None of us has totally arrived! We have all fallen short of God’s standard of perfection. Thus, we are all in need of recovery.
What makes FATR distinct from other recovery ministries?
FATR is for all who have hurts, habits and hang-ups (not just one specific issue). It is a “large umbrella” under which a limitless number of issues can be dealt with. FATR is a ministry that is centered upon the teachings of the Bible and the person of Jesus Christ. It is forward-looking. Rather than wallowing in the past or dredging up or rehearsing painful memories, FATR focuses on the future. Instead of playing the “accuse and excuse” game of victimization, FATR helps people accept personal responsibility. Regardless of the issue, situation or circumstance, FATR offers a safe place for imperfect people to journey together and apply life-transforming principles that lead to freedom, wholeness and maturity.
How is FATR structured?
Each meeting offers a large group meeting of worship, teaching and/or testimony followed by small group meetings (for men and women) and some “hang time” for developing healthy relationships.
When does FATR meet?
Every Monday night at Austin Ridge Bible Church starting at 6:30 PM.
Is childcare provided?
Yes. Childcare is provided from 6:15 – 8:30 PM for children through 6th grade.
